The Boys' Brigade

The Boys' Brigade 1st Craven Boys Brigade opened on the 13 January 2009 with two boys. We have grown in number since then and regularly have an attendance of 23 boys. We have a dedicated and qualified team of leaders and helpers. We have good facilities both indoors and outdoors.

The boys have an action packed fun evening doing different activities which include making things, music, drama, games, sports, stories, making friends, food activities, and working towards their badges. We also take trips, locally to the woods and further afield. We have visited the lifeboat station at Morecambe. We join up with other companies in the Bradford Battalion for outings, such as a day of camping activities, ten pin bowling and a large party to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee which included sports, activities, a large inflatable slide, followed by a barbecue. We finished last year with a Christmas Party at Dragons Den.

The boys have been involved with various themes and projects that have helped others. They made craft items which they sold to raise money for a children's charity overseas. They became knowledgeable about the The Royal National Lifeboat Institute and presented the charity with a cheque on their visit to Morecambe. They have recently learned about recycling and the benefits of Fair Trade.

Our aim is to ensure the boys have a great time in a safe Christian environment.
